ELKHORN, Neb. (KLKN) – One year after a devastating tornado struck Elkhorn, the Arbor Day Foundation and the American Reforestation Initiative partnered to help the community rebuild.

Groups distribute 200 free trees in Elkhorn for Arbor Day, a year after destruction The American Reforestation Initiative and Arbor Day Foundation distributed 200 free trees to homeowners on Saturday.

American Reforestation Initiative announces Replant Omaha Initiative, sign up for a free 7 gallon tree, to be picked up at Ta Ha Zouka Park in Elkhorn, Nebraska on Saturday April 26th from 9 am till 12 noon. Please bring a pickup so you have plenty of room. We are excited to work with Arbor Day Foundation and the City of Omaha on this project. Sign up now, trees are going fast.
