The Papillion High School Class of 1953 recently celebrated its 73rd class reunion at Summer Kitchen Cafe in La Vista. (Yes, that's 73 years!) The tight knit class originally had 26 seniors.

Now all over 90 years old, the attendees primarily live in the Omaha metro area but one classmate traveled back from Phoenix. Alumni shared stories from their school days, including memories of fielding Papillion’s first competitive football team in 1952. Lee Denker, PLCS Foundation Executive Director, attended as a guest and enjoyed celebrating with the group. They welcomed him as "family" since his dad, Clem Denker, went to school with them but graduated a year ahead with the class of 1952. Everyone shared a special cinnamon roll cake to commemorate the anniversary.

Thank you to the Class of 1953 for continuing to preserve and share such an important part of Papio history.
