Paramount CSEA Chapter 447

The CSEA Board of Directors took emergency action in August to unanimously support Proposition 50, which will appear on the special election ballot. Officially named the California Congressional Redistricting Initiative, Proposition 50 is a temporary, but necessary, response to an unprecedented power grab initiated by ultra-conservative states. Their plan is clear: steal enough congressional seats before the 2026 election to entrench their majority in Congress to enable the Trump administration’s continued roll-back of workers’ rights, unions and public education.

Protecting our members requires CSEA not only to pursue opportunities for improvement but also to guard against risks, including potential closures or cuts to the Department of Education, unchecked expansion of charter schools, worsening income inequality, and other threats to classified employees and the communities they serve.

Proposition 50 provides essential safeguards for members, public schools and local communities.

Vote yes on 50.

Negotiations Update

Your negotiations team met with the District for the third time and continues to bring forward proposed contract language. During this session, we presented articles addressing Overtime, Summer School, Differential Pay, Bilingual Stipend, Organizational Security, and Association Rights.

In addition to contract language, we also presented salary proposals and insurance benefits for consideration.

Our next negotiations session is scheduled for October 22, where we will continue to review proposals and discuss the cost impact of our requests.
