Have you ever heard the saying, ‘a goal without a plan is just a dream?’
Without action steps and a system to implement them, goals are likely to fizzle.
Here are Anna's top tips for success to achieve your goals at New Year or any time of year.

Start with a vision that is your own. Don’t set goals just because it’s a new year. Choose goals that align with your values and reflect the life you actually want for yourself.

Simple + practical + enjoyable = sustainable. Making our goals complicated, unrealistic or unpleasant is a set-up. When you identify goals that are a stretch, but that you actually look forward to, you are more likely to succeed.

Reduce resistance. Reduce the friction that stands between you and attaining your goals. For example, to drink more water, put a full bottle out on your bathroom counter the night before so it’s available first thing in the morning. To start a walking habit, put your socks and untied sneakers right by the door. Want to save money in 2023? Have the amount automatically deposited into your savings account before you even see it.

Adults with Attention-Deficit/Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) can struggle with symptoms that interfere with having a happy marriage. Maintaining a happy marriage can be even more difficulty if both partners have ADHD.

When most people think of ADHD, they think of children. A national parents survey in 2016 indicated that the estimated number of children ages 2 through 17 with ADHD was 6.1 million.1 That’s a lot of children with ADHD. However, a NIMH study in 2017 of adults ages 18 through 44 indicated a current prevalence rate of 4.4% with ADHD.2 The 2020 census counted 258 million adults in the U. S.3 If you assume that this rate is the same for all adults in the U.S., then there are 11 million adults in the U.S with ADHD. An article in JAMA Psychiatry in 2019 indicated that only 11% of adults were getting treatment.4 Thus, the odds are such that the partner(s) in a marriage with ADHD are probably not getting treated for it.
