From Distraction to Destiny Coaching

Our Story

I am a passionate Puerto Rican woman who was born and raised in the Bronx, NY and attended Catholic School for 12 years. I am the middle child of 3 girls. Growing up wasn’t peaceful. There was a lot of fighting and contention in my home, which, I guess, made me an angry child. I was defensive and, regretfully, a bully. I mistreated a lot of kids my age, girls and boys, just to feel like I had some sense of power over something. And the ‘80s didn’t have a whole lot of adult intervention when it came to bullying, so I got away with it. The adults didn’t hold me accountable, but God later would, guiding me to a life of healing and support for others. It started with my friends, my “inner circle.” Giving advice, listening, and supporting soon became a common occurrence for me.

Throughout college I felt this pull towards choosing a career of helping people, but ultimately I chose one in Information Technology. I’ve worked in IT for over 20 years in the healthcare industry because it’s an indirect way to help others and contribute to the greater good. Little did I know that the passion to help that burned inside, was my true purpose.

When layoffs at work became the norm, I realized that it was time for me to truly identify and begin walking in my purpose. So I prayed, I fasted, and I asked God to show me my path. It was then that I met a woman who became my coach, my mentor and my friend and helped me identify that coaching is my purpose. Its action-oriented work and life changing transformations, captivated me. Its opportunity to support others in achieving a fulfilling life whether that means living a healthy marriage, figuring out the dating scene, raising your consciousness of yourself and/or the world around you, increasing emotional maturity, improving self-esteem and confidence, identifying your worth and learning to love yourself…it all excites me like nothing else ever has.

Through coaching, I partner with clients in a deep, thought provoking way to create action-oriented plans that result in their highest potential life and self. I believe that we are more powerful and capable than we are aware. We are surrounded by all of the people and resources in every moment that we need to excel. The coaching relationship allows me to guide clients to think out of the box and tap into their own power and abilities in order to reach their true potential and a joy-filled life, while also recognizing and eliminating emotional blocks. When individuals are free to explore the possibilities without judgement, anything can happen! I want to empower you to love yourself enough to put fear aside and be the person you’ve been called to be. I know it’s possible because I’ve been there and I'm doing it. From a lack of self-confidence to an unhealthy marriage and to moments of complete unhappiness, I’ve been there. But I’m grateful for every moment of that journey because it brought me to you today. I would not be in a position to work with you if I hadn’t gone through it myself and walked into the light on the other side. Even with a blessed life, two amazing sons and a rambunctious puppy, obstacles and challenges continue to come my way and always will, yet my faith and my self-worth is so grounded that nothing will ever bring me back to where I came from.
