Fish Fry

It is with heavy hearts that we share the passing of the matriarch of our family and co-founder of The Fish Fry, Mrs. Elsie Ensey.

Her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, extended family, friends, and through the traditions she created that are still part of The Fish Fry today. From her homemade coleslaw, tartar sauce, and red sauce recipes, each perfected through countless batches and taste tests, to the warmth and love she poured into every detail, her touch will always remain here.

Mrs. Ensey was talented in so many ways. She loved crafting and sewing, and many of the Christmas decorations still displayed today were handmade by her more than 50 years ago. She even sewed the very first green and white checkered aprons worn by the original waitstaff.

Though our hearts are heavy, we find comfort in knowing her legacy will continue in the family she loved so dearly, in the traditions she created, and in every meal served from recipes she perfected. The foundation she and Dr. Ensey built is something we will proudly carry forward.
