**PRESS RELEASE**
**Lamar County Flood Response – June 23, 2026**

On June 23, 2026, at approximately 2:00 a.m., rain showers began moving into Lamar County. The showers were heavy at times throughout the morning and day and continued into the early evening hours.

At approximately 9:05 a.m., Lamar County Fire Marshal Quincy Blount reported minor flooding on North Cedar Street in the City of Blossom. Soon afterward, floodwaters began rising rapidly within the City of Blossom and the surrounding outlying areas.

Around 9:30 a.m., major flooding was reported at Live Oaks RV Park, located in Blossom, Texas. Multiple reports of water over roadways also began coming in from northern and eastern Lamar County.

Throughout the morning, day, and evening, a total of 40 water rescues were conducted in Lamar County. The City of Paris reported 7 water rescues within the city limits.

20 agencies and more than 60 personnel from local, state, and volunteer agencies responded to flood emergencies throughout Lamar County.
