Restoring your Nxt or Nxtwi database into Test



!! Although updating the Test Database from the Live Production DB (if done correctly) should have no effect on Live whatsoever, caution should always be the prime concern. So as descriptive as I’ll try to be here, if you have to do this and you aren’t “completely” comfortable with the procedure, then it would be best to just call/email me and have me (or someone else that knows this process) do it for you…!!



I get a lot of questions and have spent a lot of time restoring customers Nxt and Nxtwi databases into their respective test databases. That being the case, I thought this would be a good place to start the SXe forum for my many Infor customers.

Conventionally Infor keeps the nxt and nxtwi databases in /db, their bi files in /db, their ai files in /ai, the online backups in /backup, the main source, executables, libraries and script files under /rd, and the entire Test structure under /test. So although this is different in some cases we’ll use this default directory structure at the template for our example.
