Yes I CAN Karate

1. Shu (守): "Protect" or "Obey"In this initial stage, the student strictly follows the teachings of their master or tradition. The goal is to master the fundamentals, forms, and techniques precisely through repetition. The student obeys the rules exactly as taught, building essential muscle memory and a strong foundational understanding without questioning the underlying theory.

2. Ha (破): "Detach" or "Break"Once the basics are fully internalized, the practitioner begins to experiment and innovate. In the Ha stage, the student breaks away from strict adherence to the rules to learn the underlying principles, test limitations, and integrate variations that fit their own style or needs. The rules are bent or temporarily discarded to foster creativity.

3. Ri (離): "Leave" or "Transcend"The final stage is the attainment of mastery. The practitioner no longer relies on formal techniques, forms, or traditions; their actions become fluid, natural, and intuitive. At this point, the student has transcended the rules entirely, setting off on their own path and creating their own unique style or original approach.
