💡 "Life is never made unbearable by circumstances, but only by lack of meaning and purpose." - Viktor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning
-
🤔 How connected are you with your purpose? How about your patient with their purpose?
-
🤔 Do your day to day decisions tend to line up with that purpose? How about the decisions your patient makes?
-
🥕 If there is a disconnect, it might be helpful to reconnect & redirect towards whatever “carrot” is driving, or rather, should be driving those decisions!

✨ Who else has been enjoying the new just like us!?
-
✨ One of our favorites is ’s Inside Out!
-
💡 Did you know that the movie is based on the work of the Dalai Lama & Dr. Paul Ekman & their “Atlas of Emotions?” Not only they, Dr. Ekman was a vital consultant for the film!
-
🤓 The “Atlas of Emotions” is based on research that has illustrated a consensus among researchers that there are FIVE UNIVERSAL EMOTIONS, which are:
-
1️⃣ FEAR: Our fear of danger lets us anticipate threats to our safety. The message can range from low level concern to conveying panic.
-
2️⃣ ANGER: We get angry when something blocks us or we feel we are being treated unfairly. It can carry a message ranging from dissatisfaction to threat.
-
3️⃣ DISGUST: Feeling disgusted by what is toxic helps us avoid being poisoned, physically or socially. It tends to show that the target of disgust is to be kept away from.
-
4️⃣ SADNESS: Sadness is a response to loss which allows us to take a timeout & show that we need support. It tends to encourage empathy from others.
-
5️⃣ JOY: Joy describes the many pleasant feelings that arise from experiences both familiar & novel. It demonstrates desire to engage in social interaction.
-
🤔 Are you aware of the differences between these 5 emotional states & the signals that alert you to each of them?
-
🤔 If so, how do they influence your decision-making? If not, how might they be helpful?

🙏 With the utmost gratitude, THANK YOU...
-
❤️ While this past Saturday wasn’t our first course, it was the first one on that grand of a scale & we are mindful of everyone that helped make it such a success!
-
❤️ To our entire team of volunteers, each & every participant, & everyone in between, we are beyond grateful for your presence & energy!
-
❤️ Hopefully you all walked away with something as valuable as we what we received from all of you
-
❤️ It sounds to be true, hearing the feedback from some of you, which fills us with even more gratitude
-
❤️ Here’s a few of the most meaningful things things that some have shared with us that they took away from the day thus far:
-
🧠 Meet your patient where they are at; in order to know where they’re at, you have to truly connect with the human in front of you
-
🧠 Be mindful of your own motivation & mindset in order to better connect with your that of you patient
-
🧠 Compassion starts with yourself
-
🧠 Persistent pain patients already practice mindfulness/meditation; they just do so about the pain experience. We are here to try & help redirect that energy elsewhere to healthier alternatives
-
🧠 Everything starts with purpose. Know the purpose of yourself & your patient in order to begin to know success
-
🧠 Be intentional, flexible, & non-judgmental in your interactions with yourself & your fellow human beings
-
🧠 Evaluating movement is not about creating fragility narratives that make patients believe they are broken. It’s about changing the peripheral environment & redistributing loads & stresses
