“It’s emotional, beautiful, terrifying and everything in between.” — Jeffrey Bernstein on Mozart’s Requiem

Pasadena Choral Society’s Life of Mozart comes to San Marino Community Church on May 20 at 7:30pm, presenting the Requiem in its unfinished form and performing only the portions completed by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself.

Pasadena Weekly featured the Choral Society’s “dramatic” season finale concert in this week’s issue, including interviews with Artistic Director Jeffrey Bernstein and actor Milo Brody, who will portray Mozart through the composer’s own letters. The Pasadena Choral Society presents Life of Mozart on May 20 at 7:30pm, a strikingly original interpretation of Mozart’s Requiem, performed exclusively in the form Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart himself completed, allowing audiences to hear the work as he left it.

Interwoven throughout the choral performance is a dramatic narrative, brought to life by musician and actor Milo Brody, who portrays Mozart. Through excerpts of the composer’s own letters, Brody gives voice to Mozart’s thoughts, struggles, humor, and humanity, creating an intimate and immersive experience that transcends the traditional concert format.
