Today, we’re giving you a small glimpse behind the scenes as work continues on a special addition to our building. We are not quite ready to share what it is just yet, but we can promise it carries meaning, history, and purpose.

Today marks a historic milestone for the Hispanic Multi-Purpose Service Center.

On May 7, 1976, our organization was officially incorporated, beginning a legacy of service, dignity, and community that continues to shine 50 years later.

Founded through the vision and dedication of María Magda O’Keefe, the Hispanic Center became more than an organization. It became a place of hope, support, and connection for generations of families in Paterson and beyond.

As we prepare for our official 50th Anniversary Gala on October 16, 2026, we could not let this meaningful day pass without honoring the date that started it all.

In honor of our 50th anniversary, we are asking 50 people to make a donation today to support the Center’s next chapter.
