We are happy to share that Saints alum Rev. Raphael M. Arteaga, O.P. was ordained to the priesthood on May 23 in Washington, D.C. by the Cardinal Archbishop. Father Arteaga will celebrate Mass on Sunday, June 7, at Saint John Paul II Parish (755 Central Avenue, Pawtucket). The Mass will be followed by a Eucharistic Procession around the neighborhood, benediction with the Blessed Sacrament, and a reception in the church hall where first priestly blessings will be imparted. All are welcome.⁠

Father Arteaga, Class of 2015, was on the path to priesthood even as a senior in high school. It was apparent to many in the faculty and administration at the time. He was very active with Lasallian Youth at Saints. He received two important religious awards from the diocese, the St. Timothy Award and the Lumen Gentium Distinguished Catholic Youth award. At Saint Raphael Academy, he was presented with the Edith Peck Philips Memorial Award, Saints’ highest honor.⁠
