Sand Stone Fire Forces Closure of AZT Near Sunflower

The Tonto National Forest has issued a closure order for 5.2 miles of Passage 22 of the Arizona Trail between Highway 87 (AZT mile 384.7) and the Cross F Trailhead Connector (mile 389.9). No safe or reasonable detours have been identified, and everyone is encouraged to avoid the area until the fire has been contained and the trail is determined to be safe for recreation.
