Study: “Pacific Castle” after Zoltan Szabó

Today’s explores Zoltan Szabó’s luminous west-coast style—soft mist, strong shapes, and a house rising like a quiet monument above reflective water. His technique balances bold, angular structure with drifting washes, where edges dissolve into atmosphere.

In this study, I focused on capturing the contrast between the crisp planes of the building and the fluid serenity of the water below. Even in a quick sketch, Szabó’s rhythmic simplicity teaches clarity: let light do the work, and let watercolor breathe.
