Stillness is a form of action.
When we force, we send a message to the universe that we don’t trust it to deliver. Tension, grasping, and over-controlling all stem from a fear that what we want won’t come unless we push it into being. But that very energy can block the flow. The universe doesn’t respond to desperation—it responds to alignment.
Rest is where the magic happens. When you allow yourself to receive, you open the channel. You release the grip and let what’s meant for you find its way. Trust that the seeds you’ve planted are growing, even in the quiet. Especially in the quiet.
So today, let go a little. Breathe. Soften. The things you desire are not running from you—they’re meeting you in the space you create when you finally let yourself rest.

Belated Happy World Parrot Day! 🦜 In honor of it, I wanted to share this parrot I painted—a piece that’s also featured in my Animal Love Oracle deck (published by Inner Traditions / Bear & Company)—along with a fun fact about these brilliant birds. And yes, this one comes with a little presidential reference.
In the deck, these two lovebirds represent partnership, diplomacy, and divine love—a reminder that two is better than one, and that color itself can heal the heart. Parrots show up throughout my work, too—woven into many of my other pieces.
The fun fact: Andrew Jackson reportedly taught his parrot, Poll (nicknamed Polly), to curse—and the bird swore so loudly at his funeral it had to be carried out. A testament to how smart parrots are, and a reminder that the energy you put out will make its way back to you, often in unexpected ways.
It’s all quantum, really. The universe is a mirror—it doesn’t weigh your intentions or whether you meant something as a joke. It simply returns the frequency you send into it. Polly only gave back what was put in. So do we. So choose your vibration with care. 💚
