Powerhouse Program
To build inner strength and confidence in kids and teens with the hope that no child feels powerless
05/26/2022
Society does a poor job of normalizing that it is okay for boys and men to be able to process their emotions. Adolescence is a time of self-discovery. Writing in a journal facilitates this, affording a safe space for questioning, observing, and exploring likes and dislikes, passions and motivations, fears and apprehensions, dreams and desires.
When you want to journal, find a quiet space, and don't censor yourself. Get those thoughts out! Journaling is an excellent way for teen boys to open up and get their emotions out on paper. It helps them see patterns and helps to strategize how to reach goals or deal with problems.
The best part is that it promotes a positive relationship with oneself. It feels less intimidating than talking and can be soothing. Over time it creates confidence in how boys/teens/men communicate their emotions.

PARENTING TIP: To help your child build self-esteem allow them opportunities to try new things. It is important at every age, having new experiences allows them to discover what they may like and dislike, what their strengths and weaknesses are, and also how to experience success and also failure. What we need to do as parents is to support them no matter what and encourage them to step outside their comfort zone and into their impact zone!
Coming this fall, our Powerhouse Program will look better than ever! We will be opening our studio to the boys with an all-new curriculum and special guest speakers tailored to them!
The goal remains the same for our students: to become a person of great strength and power. Stay tuned for more updates!!!
