Tonight, I realized that a lot of my sessions this year have included the family pet(s). I started gathering an image from each, and OVER 75% of my sessions have included the extra family member(s)! That makes my heart so happy, because I'm a huge animal lover! I have loved working with them all, even the longhorns... they're cute, but they scare me a little, and at the beginning of our session this year, I stepped right in the middle of a big pile of fresh manure.

A few days ago, we lost one of our most special family pets, our Great Dane/BMD mix, Boone. I attached a picture from our 2019 family photo session when we decided to include him and our BMD, Mack, who passed away a few years ago. It was wild, but oh how I treasure this image now. It's already hard enough to get 2 awkward adults and 5 kids to look good in a photo, why not add 2 rowdy dogs!? No one was looking at the camera, but they were a part of our family back then, and it captured their love and loyalty and cuteness, and THAT is good enough for me!

We don't get nearly enough time with our pets, so bring them to our session... I'll never mind! :)

After a few years of a lighter photography schedule, I am back! I couldn’t have asked for a more perfect “first day back” than spending it with THE sweetest SENIOR!
