Last fall, Sandy Macnab was posthumously selected as the Oregon Wheat 2025 Voice of the Industry. At last week’s celebration in Moro, Oregon, we recognized Sandy’s family and presented the award to two of his children, Jen Macnab Brost and Scott Macnab.

Sandy served as a voice for wheat producers in the north-central part of the state for many decades, devoting much of his career to Oregon agriculture as an Oregon State University Extension Agent for Sherman and Wasco counties, earning statewide and national recognition for his commitment to grower education. He served on numerous boardsβ€”including the Soil and Water Conservation District, Oregon Wheat Growers League, and Sherman County Fair Boardβ€”where his guidance strengthened local community development. Sandy shared his humor and insight through his long-running newspaper column "Off the Farm," as well as through countless local events and tours that connected producers and the public. His dedication, community spirit, and advocacy for Oregon wheat continue to leave a lasting legacy that embodies the true voice of the industry.

100 years of history, challenges, research, progress, change, partnerships, and feeding the world faced together. As the first wheat commodity organization of its kind in the United States, the Oregon Wheat Growers League has had a lasting impact on the U.S. wheat industry and its customers worldwide.

Last week, the League, including over 200 members, past and present leadership, staff, industry partners, friends, and their families, gathered in Moro, Oregon, where the League began a century ago, to celebrate its 100th anniversary.

Thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make this milestone event a success!
