The Forest Service has published the draft environmental impact statement for the Blue Mountains Forest Plan Revision, opening a 90-day public comment period. This is your opportunity to help shape the ongoing analysis and final decisions. The work to repair the flood damage to the Little Tucannon bridge will begin June 22, in order to facilitate the replacement of the bridge, Forest Service Road 47, from its junction with FSR 180 to Cow Camp Bridge, and FSR 4620 in its entirety will be temporarily closed. The bridge replacement is estimated to take until August 14.

Malheur, Umatilla and Wallowa-Whitman National Forests are recruiting individuals to be members on the Northeast Oregon Resource Advisory Committee (RAC) that was established as required by the Secure Rural Schools and Community Self-Determination Act. Recruitment for Northeast Oregon RAC will end on July 13, 2026.

The North Fork John Day Ranger District of the Umatilla National Forest is hosting a public field trip to the Battle Bruin Integrated Vegetation Management Project on June 23 to introduce and seek public input on the project.

Interested participants are invited to meet at the North Fork John Day Ranger Station, 401 Main Street Ukiah, OR, at 8:30 a.m., with an expected return to Ukiah by 4:00 p.m.
