After being kicked out yesterday and unable to use the local emergency homeless shelter due to the level of care needed, even with a care taker and forced to endure the storm last night, I am relieved to share that this Veteran finally is receiving the emergency help they needed . Thanks to the advocacy we do and done on this case and our commitment to our clients, the executive director of Opening Doors Northwest Florida has stepped up to help secure a place for the week, we thank Bright Bridge for supplying a hot meals and other items the clients and his caretaker needed, while our team does the casework to move them to permanent housing. Many community members don’t realize that in Pensacola and surrounding areas even with the caretaker, emergency shelter is not an option for those that need someone to be their limb, their voice or simply just their own help. We here at Fearless are here to be the voice for the change so that everyone has an option no matter of the disability when it comes to emergency shelters.
