DA8 Training

Remember, we don't just do classes! Our guided rides have been taking off more and more. We just got done taking a group of guys from NY out yesterday. We also have places to stay on my property, that I rent out (guest house and two apartments), plus we have rental bikes.

Cooper Abbott and I couldn’t have asked for a better three days with incredible weather conditions. We put on a 3-Day DA8 Experience, and this one included a night at the Nitro Circus event on Friday—which was unreal.

As you’ll see in the photos, we mixed up the riding and terrain each day, with some amazing views and fun surprises along the way. The crew showed up ready to ride, laugh, and make it an awesome time. We also enjoyed having them stay at the house plus some good food!

We’re already looking forward to our next DA8 Experience for PHX SX—our 3rd annual! Only 8 riders and always a good time. We’ll be posting details later this week.

DA8 Experience rides are a completely new experience and different from the focus of what you may know about our other DA8 Training rides. The focus for DA8 Experience rides is all about fun, safety, camaraderie and enjoying the freedom and thrill that off-road motorcycles can bring. While good technique is always encouraged, these are not training and technique classes. This is all about having fun riding motorcycles and you letting us handle all the logistics while you get to enjoy an incredible riding experience.

Destry Abbott and Cooper Abbott will be leading you on some exciting routes with a mix of terrain. Each day will consist of 5-7 hours of riding in some of the best terrain Arizona has on offer. We might even be able to find some cool sections where Cooper could show off his skills on something gnarly.

This experience will definitely be a fun one since Friday evening, after we clean up, we’ll head down to the stadium to watch the Nitro Circus event (tickets provided). Of course my son-in-law Jarryd McNeil will be performing in the show too.

Some additional details:
* This DA8 Experience ride is intended for novice (B level in terms of riding skill). Riders should be comfortable riding single-track trails, be able to handle moderate climbs, descents and be comfortable in rocky conditions (we are in AZ after all). The terrain will be a mix of fun single track, double track, sand wash and other offroad conditions here in the Southwest.
* This experience ride will be limited to just 8 riders, so sign-up asap to lock in your spot (downpayment of $500)
* Riders are welcome to bring their own fully prepped motorcycle or we do offer fully prepped KTM motorcycle rentals (additional cost) for the ultimate in convenience
* Each day will start with breakfast at my house before heading out for the ride.
* Lunch will be provided on the trail at a meeting point, where the DA8 staff will meet us (along with tools and parts if needed).
* Dinner will be provided Thursday, Friday and Saturday evening.
* Additional night's stay can be available for an additional fee (please let us know in advance)
* Bring your riding/safety gear, hydration pack (a must for AZ), your great attitude and either your well prepped bike (or rent ours!)

Accommodations Included (Abbott Acres):
* Fully furnished guest house with two bedrooms (2 queen beds, 1 king bed)
* Apartment with two queen beds, living room, kitchen, etc..
* Casita with two queen beds, kitchenette (more like a nice hotel room, but with a fridge and microwave, etc.).
* Two guest bedrooms in the main house (both king beds).
* We have two separate garages, and places to wash and work on bikes if needed.

Schedule:
* Thursday, December 4 - Reception and welcome dinner. We will meet for dinner, socializing and talk about the exciting agenda for the next few days
* Friday, December 5 - Day 1 of riding - All meals provided
* Saturday, December 6 - Day 2 of riding - All meals provided
* Sunday, December 7 - Day 3 of riding - Breakfast and lunch provided. Send off in the afternoon

Cost:
* $3300 - includes lodging, meals, fully prepped rental bike for all three days
* $2750 - includes lodging, meals, (bring your own well prepped bike)
* $2500 - includes meals (you provide your own lodging and your own well prepped bike)

Need to pay the $500 deposit to reserve your spot. The rest will be due the week of the event.

What a weekend up in Flagstaff!

Cooper Abbott and I had the privilege of putting on a 2-day DA8/CA12 Class, and we honestly couldn't have asked for a better group or better conditions.

Day 1 was all about drills and refining technique, with some single track riding mixed in. Day 2 gave everyone more seat time to apply what they’d learned, plus we tackled a few focused sections to keep pushing skills forward.

We’re both passionate about this sport, and getting to spend time with others who share that same excitement is what it’s all about. Personally, I loved camping out with the group and swapping stories around the fire—those moments make it even more memorable. Plus I learned a lot about other things I enjoy.

Cooper Abbott and I are pumped to have our DA8 / CA12 class in Flagstaff sell out. This is going to be an awesome time in the trees and the cooler weather. We’re looking forward to camping out with the group and spending two quality days riding, training, playing some games on the motorcycles, and just hanging out. We’re looking forward to it.
