PHIA General Meeting Minutes 1/8/26

Meeting Called to order at 7:00PM

Silver Spring Road Plan - A presentation was made by Ron Snyder, Ross Mangiapana & Chris Nebra regarding traffic speed reduction on Silver Spring Road between Belair Road and Honeygo Blvd. The “Road Diet” shown would eliminate a lane in each direction, making bike lanes and reducing turn lanes. Several residents brought up questions and concerns that this solution would only cause more traffic back ups at intersections, not necessarily be safer and that the virtual traffic counts shown in the studies presented were not a good reflection of the reality of the area. David Marks made comments on the problem noting the solution is not easy since the road does not qualify for speed bumps or additional traffic control devices.

Minutes from December Meeting – Minute were reviewed by those present. A motion to accept from Lynn Richardson, seconded by Bob Mallory and the motion was accepted.

Renee will take the lead on finding out where to get a replacement and how to get the project done. Lynn will check with PHWMBA to see if the funds that had been allocated in 2023 for the replacement are still available.
