Out of an abundance of caution for the potential winter weather tomorrow afternoon, the decision has been made to close all non-essential county offices Tuesday, January 21, 2025.

The rescheduled Commission Meeting will still occur at noon tomorrow at the Houston County Annex.

As you prepare, remember the 4 Ps of winter safety:

1. People: Check on family, neighbors, and the elderly to ensure they are safe, warm, and have access to essential supplies. Limit time spent outdoors and dress in layers to stay warm.

2. Pets: Bring pets inside to protect them from the freezing temperatures. Ensure they have a warm, safe place to stay.

3. Pipes: Protect exposed pipes by insulating them and allowing faucets to drip slowly to prevent freezing and bursting.

4. Plants: Cover or bring in any sensitive plants to shield them from the extreme cold.
