A friend sent me this picture yesterday while the thermometer in my car was showing 105 degrees. It broke my heart. A person looking for shade, with a dog by their side, in dangerous heat that shows no mercy.
By the time I passed by the area, they were both gone. I truly hope they are okay.

Today I just want to say this: count your blessings, check on your neighbors, share water if you can, and remind people that cooling centers are available.

And please, don’t forget the animals. They feel this heat too.

Ayer un amigo me envió esta foto mientras el termómetro de mi carro marcaba 105 grados. Me rompió el corazón. Una persona buscando sombra, con un perro a su lado, en un calor peligroso que no perdona. Cuando pasé por el área, ya ambos se habían ido. De corazón espero que estén bien.

Hoy solo quiero decir esto: contemos nuestras bendiciones, revisemos a nuestros vecinos, compartamos agua si podemos, y recordémosle a la gente que hay centros de enfriamiento disponibles.

Y por favor, no se olviden de los animales. Ellos también sienten este calor.
