So, you want to use the studio for a photo mini-session—amazing! We’re so excited to have you! 🫶 With a little prep, your time here can be a breeze. No mind-reading necessary; we’ve got you covered with some pro tips to make the most of your session. 😉

Here’s the 411 on how you can have the best mini-session ever!!

1. Have clients arrive fully ready—hair, makeup, the works! Imagine losing an hour of precious time helping a client finish getting ready 🙃. No fun!

2. Set arrival expectations early. No one wants to set up while the client waits! We recommend clients arrive a bit early but wait in their car until you wave them in. Problem solved!

3. Lock the door during shoots to keep your focus. With back-to-back holiday bookings, another photographer might walk in or a client could get mixed up and interrupt your session (you’d be surprised how often it happens).

4. Keep track of time! Set a timer for a few minutes before your session ends to avoid feeling rushed, and aim to finish about 10 minutes before your rental ends to keep the handoff smooth for the next renter. (Timers really are your best friend here!)

5. Avoid the time crunch by adding a 30-minute buffer when booking. A little breathing room lets you relax and stay in the zone. You can thank us later. 😉

Lighting is everything when it comes to creating the perfect shot. We get lot's of questions about the best time for booking in the studio... The lighting in our rental studio changes a lot throughout the year!

From September to March, the studio bathes in soft, diffused light all day long.

There are no harsh shadows or direct light during this season. In OUR opinion, the sweet spot for the most natural light is from 10am-3pm.
