As elected officials, we should be working in the best interests of our constituents and not taking advantage of our powers for personal gain. On Wednesday, my bill to prevent crypto corruption by elected officials passed out of the State Government Committee along a party line vote. This is the first bill like this in the country. In the age of crypto, we need more anti-corruption laws.

In the age of crypto, anti-corruption laws aren't meeting the moment. That's why I introduced a bill prohibiting crypto corruption by public officials in PA. Elected officials should be working in the best interests of the public, not taking advantage of our powers for personal gain.

It's important to nurture the next generation of civic leaders. Last month, I visited the Academy at Palumbo to meet with students working on a project about underfunded Philly schools. Yesterday, those students visited my district office to interact with staff and learn about their jobs. I'm always happy to see young people encouraged and excited about making our city a better place.
