“No one should take for granted the fact that this concert endures. The group performing Friday under the Philly Pops name is a band of survivors”
Peter Dobrin | The Philadelphia Inquirer

Some traditions are worth fighting for.

On one of the hottest nights of the year, more than 12,000 of you joined us on Independence Mall to celebrate America's 250th Anniversary through one of our most universal languages: music.

The Philly Pops have always believed that music belongs to everyone. Together, we're not just continuing a beloved Philadelphia tradition, we're writing its next chapter. And to everyone who braved the heat, sang along, cheered, danced, and shared the evening with us, you showed us that you’re there writing it with us.

Thank you to our incredible musicians, Music Director Chris Dragon, our special guest Idina Menzel, our partners, and every person who helped make this unforgettable night possible.

That’s how you kick off a summer full of music the right way.
