You’re gentle to those who hurt you, compassionate to those who’ve done you wrong holding nothing against them in your heart.

You’re not perfect, and you’re the first one to acknowledge the ways you’ve come up short. Your humility and sincerity are my favorite things about you.

My sweet Vanessa, one of the most beautiful things about you is the way you love people. You never run out of second chances for others; regardless of where they come from, regardless of the choices they make, you always put your heart on the line for their sake.

Marriage is designed to reflect the One who created it. God has given you and Andrew the gift of marriage to help each other look more like Jesus..

To be merciful as you endeavor to understand others, ⠀
To be compassionate, showing kindness toward all. ⠀
To be gentle and humble, unoffendable in your patience with others. ⠀
To tolerate the weaknesses of those in the family of faith, forgiving one another in the same way you have been graciously forgiven by Jesus Christ. ⠀

9.5.2020 // One of my favorite characteristics about God is His forbearance, His patient mercy. He loves us so much that He is patient with the world in His return - in all the distaste, pain, heartbreak, injustice - not because He is slow nor turns a blind eye but because he is merciful and patiently awaiting our heart’s return to Him.

My prayer for my daughter is that she would extend that same loving mercy to others, that she would seek and nurture those that are lost and wandering from the Father’s love, that she would be patient as they come to understand just how much Jesus loves them, and being merciful as she journeys with them through the trial and pain until they come back home into His eternal grace.

Forbearance Amara Edgar, it hasn’t even been a week with you here and you’ve already changed my world. 🌍May God continue to give you His patient, merciful love to extend to others.

We can’t wait to meet you sunshine ☀️ to hold you, to care for you, to listen, teach and learn from you, to laugh with you and to cry with you, to walk through this beautiful life with you.

But I’m most looking forward to being on mission together - to love like Jesus. To care for each one of your little friends and their parents that you bring into our family. To welcome others into our home and our lives. To point them to Creator of this world, not just through our words but through the way our actions show how deeply we love them.
