Philadelphia educators, nearly 14,000 strong, are ready to stand up for fairness. With their contract set to expire on August 31, 2025, the Philadelphia Federation of Teachers is prepared to strike if an equitable agreement isn’t reached.

They’re advocating to end a punitive sick‑leave policy that forces meetings with principals after only three days off, to secure paid parental leave, to earn extra pay for oversized classes, and to restore school libraries.

Teachers don’t want to strike but they’re willing to, because every student deserves a stable, respected, and well-supported learning environment.
