Next up we have a feisty jazz dance, Black and Gold🖤💛

Note from choreographer: For this dance, I wanted to dive deeper into choreographing jazz, even though this is my first time choreographing a jazz dance. The feelings of this song, “Black and Gold,” remind me of a subtle sassiness, feeling confident in the moment, and expressing a version of yourself you’d never think you would become when the music starts. This song also leaves you wanting more, like your favorite song or something else you might crave, pulling you in more, sometimes or always, as if you never want it to end. Another thing to add is that the lyrics portray a desire for connection, quoting, “If you’re not really here, then I don’t want to be either, I want to be next to you, black and gold, black and gold, black and gold.” Furthermore, being able to portray connection in this dance will not only be a challenge worth pursuing, but it’ll also be an exciting experience to reshape the meaning of this song into a visual experience.
