Look what we found at the MidAtlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton Roads, VA! PMQG members Lisa Long and Cathleen Kilpatrick both had quilts hanging in the show, in the “Innovative” and “Celebration of Women: A Quilters Perspective” categories, respectively. Congratulations!

Fellow quilters,
I’m Kevin Devine, President of the Philadelphia Modern Quilt Guild, taking over our IG account for the moment.
It is with great sadness we tell you of the passing of our loved member, friend, and quilt icon Sarah Bond.
Sarah has been a member of our guild since its founding and was a constant source of kindness, creativity, and inspiration. With a generous spirit she shared her knowledge, skill, and love of quilting with us and we were so fortunate to have her in our guild. As a teacher she touched so many quilters across the world and her bold patters and amazing use of color have inspired thousands of quilters. Personally,Sarah encouraged and supported me as I began my longarm journey and I was honored to quilt several of her quilts and so happy to have known her and call her my friend. She frequently held impromptu quilt gatherings at her studio she called “quilt-a-palooza” and I fondly remember being among those artists and feeling like I had come home. Today our guild mourns her, but I would also ask that after that sadness you remember her with joy, creativity, and a passion for quilting that joins us all because I am confident that is how she would want to be remembered
