Over the last 30+ years, Jeff Brown has been a pivotal leader in the Philadelphia region - bringing sustained, positive impact to the many neighborhoods, communities, and residents of Philadelphia. From creating access to healthy, affordable food in previously underserved areas classified as food deserts to hiring local community residents - many of whom were formerly incarcerated and unable to secure quality employment. Jeff has created opportunities for individuals to grow, thrive, and support their families. His philosophy of solving problems when others have given up and helping everyone, no matter their challenges, is inspirational.

Our criteria for the award is as follows:

1) They must exhibit substantial efforts towards societal change or address a challenge within their local community.

2) Their business must support other local businesses through philanthropy, mentorship, or board participation.

3) The assistance and work they do must have extended over at least two years and be ongoing to demonstrate consistency and a long-term commitment.

4) They should participate in community or non-profit work outside their business operation.

5) Their primary business operations must be in the City of Philadelphia.

6) They must personally and professionally exhibit a demonstrated commitment to the concepts of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
