At times people can think they mean well by giving you a “warning” of what could happen. But Projection likes to play tag with cautionary tales and think it can hijack your life. But it cannot.
In my lifetime, I have had some women swear up and down that I would end up just like them. I used to believe them and then take on their fear with no proof of my own in my own life. Until I put two and two together.
My life is not your life.
We are on two totally different paths in life. There maybe similarities. But my life IS my own. And not Yours.
Now if the person speaking to you gets offended by this kind of response, then you know for sure they were projecting and not really warning you. Therefore,
Their projection is their burden to bear. Not yours. 😉

When it seems the challenges are coming more than the opportunities, I think of this quote and remember to look for opportunities in the less obvious of ways too. If you add the small opportunities too, your total opportunities will add up more than your challenges.

Sometimes with not having children I feel like I did fail. But that’s only because I’m not counting what I’ve contributed to others lives and this world as high as a regard of having my own children.
If I had kids I wouldn’t have been available for certain shifts and pivoting moments in other peoples lives and breaking generational holdbacks. Rather people I know, but mostly strangers.
Recently, I see why in ancestry I was chosen for it to skip me. Am I happy their decision, no. But I understand the assignment; I understand the duty. My nieces asked me why I don’t have kids and I told them, “It wasn’t the right time. And that’s ok.” I wanted to show that even if a woman doesn’t have kids, her life is ok that she doesn’t. She can be at peace about it. And it could be something that happens or could not happen. Either way, SHE, can be ok.
Do I wish they were here, yes. But I stay in solace in the fact that where they are, they are safe and protected. And that means more to me than fulfilling a pressuring, societal duty to just do it or what I “should be doing” and then figuring it out.
