Philly SCCA Road Rally

Come out and drive with us on June 17!

The ChesMont Historical Trek is a historical tour of several sites in Chester and Montgomery counties. This is a NON-COMPETITIVE EVENT. That is, there are no trophies to be won, but also no pressure, just a lesidurely drive through the countryside. You can spend as much time, or as little time as you want at any stop. Or come back another day with your instructions when you have more time. The first site we'll visit is the nearby Valley Forge National Historical Park. Several, but not all, other sites, such as the Paoli Battlefield in Malvern will have a Revolutionary War connection..

Our route will cover 60-70 miles (depending on which optional sites you decide to visit). The route is totally paved, so no worries about dirt/rocks.

Congrats to one of our region's best buds!

Peter Schneider is the 2023 Recipient of the Robert V Ridges Memorial Award!

From the RRRs, "Bob Ridges was Secretary of the RRB from the inception of the National program in 1957 until his death in 1965. This award is presented to the SCCA member who exemplifies the highest degree of dedication and sportsmanship in the sport during the preceding year and who has made an outstanding contribution to the success of an event during its ex*****on..."

We chose this photo of Peter and Cheryl Babbe (a member of our RReNews Clan), as Peter was a supporter of road rally when she was founding her Region, and while they may meet out at a National Rally somewhere across America and serve on the same Committees, Jerry Hines and the Alcan5000 Rally bring him North every two years or so for a visit in Alaska! We will have more coverage in the upcoming RReNews, too! Congratulations, Peter (and Joanne) Schneider!

While we miss the excitement of these presentations and the recipients not knowing before their names were announced during the banquets of a "live" Convention, I am sure Peter was honored (and humbled) to get the phone call from RRB Chair Mike Bennett informing him of the honor!

We thought we would have to await for the Convention to learn the Inductee into the Robert V Ridges Family this year, yet the RRB released the RRRs today!
