We celebrated my Nana June’s 90th this weekend, and I keep coming back to how special it felt to have so many people in one place because of her.

Family came in from all over, people I hadn’t seen in years, all showing up for someone who has always shown up for everyone else. She built a life that touched so many people, and getting to see that reflected back to her was really meaningful.

Being there brought back a lot I hadn’t thought about in a long time, especially memories of being a kid in her shop, running around and feeling like anything is possible. It made me realize how much of that has stayed with me.

I was only there for a short time, and it went by quickly, but it meant SO MUCH to be there for it.

I didn’t take many photos at the party with everyone, so thank you to those who sent me what they had to cobble together a little peep into the magic. Probably says everything about the kind of weekend it was.
