Pictured here is one of our favorite projects from the last few years, our April 2024 staged reading of “Perils of the Flowerbed” by Steven Glavey.

This reading featured the acting talents of Brittany Holdahl Donahue, Marc Johnson, and Sarah Billings, was directed by Sewer Rats Artistic Director Kelci Schlierf, and the lighting design was done by Alexa Pennington.

Inspired by the real experiment conducted by Thomas Lynn Bradford and Ruth Doran in 1921, this world premiere play by Philadelphia playwright Evelyn Richardson takes us to a stately manor where five occultists gather, joining hands and lighting candles to pierce the veil into that unknown country which none of us has ever seen, yet all of us must ever go.

BUT their earnest attempts are thwarted by the jazz party next door, played live backstage by Krista Antenucci on trumpet, Jason Das on guitar, and Sequoyah Leaf on clarinet 🎺🪕🎶

Esme's Last Seance is an original drama that delves into questions of love, loss, and afterlife as Esme's unwavering faith is challenged by companions who refuse to believe that she can make contact with the man she loves even after his death.
