Shelby’s Story

Shelby was trying hard to make ends meet as a single mother of two children. Following a legal battle over a landlord repair dispute, she and her children were evicted from their home, and with no place to go, ended up in a shelter. Due to her past financial and property struggles, she had also acquired a large gas bill of more than $1,300, which was keeping her and her children from accessing permanent housing. Shelby then contacted UESF for assistance.

SOLUTION - Immediate Utility Assistance
UESF helped Shelby pay off her gas bill and get a fresh start on her utilities. This also qualified her and her children for permanent housing, and a chance to move out of the shelter.

TODAY
Shelby and her children have moved into a new home, and are stable once again. With her bills current, and an affordable place to live, she’s focused on keeping her expenses down, and paying her bills on time.
