For artists Natessa Amin, BA Harrington, Santé Johnson, and Scarlett DeLorme, Winterthur played a pivotal role as a research location for their Radical Americana exhibitions at John James Audubon Center at Mill Grove, the Museum for Art in Wood, the Historical Society of Pennsylvania, and William Way LGBT Community Center.

Winterthur is the premier museum of American decorative arts, with an unparalleled collection of nearly 90,000 objects made or used in America since 1640. The collection is displayed in the magnificent 175-room house, much as it was when the family of founder Henry Francis du Pont called it home.

Sam Chung’s cloud motif tableware draws influence from Korean art and design:
“I’m interested in the way in which clouds represent a phenomenon that is constantly in flux..these cultural references are intended to serve as an anchor to point towards my own ethnic lineage, but also questions my perception of belonging within or outside of it”.

“My own persona, portrayed through self-portraits, becomes a means to document and retell aspects of the Dominican Republic’s cultural and political history, often misrepresented through the lens of colonized minds.”
