Math Renaissance

If you've been to the math museum in NYC (MoMath), you've seen the exhibit on the aperiodic monotile, aka The Hat Tile. The photo here is from a hands-on activity at the conference G4G15, where participants tiled the plane with aperiodic monotiles. In the upcoming Math Circle course "The Hat Tile," participants will experiment with tesselations/tilings and attempt to reproduce a section of the tiling in the photo. And we'll discuss some math history using photos from the MoMath exhibit as a primary source. The course meets on Tuesdays at 3:35pm in Mt. Airy, Philadelphia. Scholarships are available.
