Small Things Philly
We believe that Small acts of kindness have a huge impact on our community. The Small Things Story
OUR START:
Small Things was first called Easter Outreach.
"Doing it together."
That's the heart of it. In this clip from the Looking Forward show, our Executive Director Vito Baldini shares why our markets are more than distribution sites. They're spaces where neighbors show up for neighbors, where community happens in real time.
Vito was joined by Sylvia, our Program Coordinator for Workforce Development and the More Than Food Program, to talk about our More Than Food Program, which moves beyond the grocery bag to open real pathways toward stability for the families we serve.

Special thanks to the Looking Forward Show and Jeffrey Abramowitz for having us!

Look who stopped by 👀
Brandon Graham () came through the Small Things Market this week, and the energy was unmatched. The Eagles legend spent real time learning about how we're feeding our Hunting Park neighbors: asking questions, listening, showing up the way he always does.
Brandon has been a 'Timoteo Big Brother' for years. Timoteo Sports mentors kids through sports right here in the same Grace & Peace Fellowship building that houses the Market.
Retired from the field, but clearly not slowing down when it comes to his community. Grateful, Brandon.

This Easter, we celebrated by bringing our community together through service, connection, and care. A day filled with a shared meal, laughter, and fun, creating space for joy while meeting real needs and strengthening the bonds around us. We are grateful for everyone who showed up and made it meaningful!!
We need volunteers! Help keep shelves stocked, lines short, and spirits high at our markets in Fairhill and Hunting Park.
Small Things Market is more than a free grocery store; it’s a place where our neighbors get the food and resources they deserve with dignity. We’re looking for volunteers to join the crew on Wednesdays, Fridays, and Saturdays!
What you’ll do:
- Be a Personal Shopper: Help guests navigate the pantry and find exactly what they need.
- The "Behind the Scenes": Restock shelves, keep things organized, and keep the market sparkling.
- Community Connection: Check guests in with a smile and a warm welcome.

We’re heartbroken to share that our beloved mascot, Pumpkin, passed away on Thursday 🤍🐾
Our girl came into our lives through our partner, New Leash on Life, an organization dedicated to giving second chances by pairing rescue dogs with incarcerated individuals for training and rehabilitation.
Pumpkin was rescued from a breeding situation and found her forever home with our warehouse supervisor, Jack Kennedy, and his wife. Over the years, she became a source of joy for so many of us.
We’ll miss her deeply, and we’re grateful for her, for the memories, and for the continued impact of New Leash on Life in both human and animal lives.
Rest easy, Pumpkin 🕊️
