Camp Jamison
An inclusive, diverse, and affordable summer camp for all kids! A summer camp for everyone!
05/14/2026
Earlier this month, Camp Jamison made its way to Washington, D.C., for ACA Camp Hill Days 2026.
Policy shapes possibility. If we want every kid to have access to camp, we have to be in the rooms where those decisions get made.
For the third year in a row, our Founder and Executive Director, Jacqueline McDonough, was there to champion the power of camp — and this year, she brought a special co-advocate: her daughter, Lola, who brought the youth voice directly into the halls of Congress.
Together, they joined camp professionals and met with Senator Dave McCormick, Representative Robert P. Bresnahan Jr., and staff from the offices of Representatives Brendan Boyle and Madeleine Dean to talk about what's at stake for camps and the kids they serve.
Here's what we fought for:
⚫ The power of camp — the life-changing impact on young people AND the real economic impact on communities, families, and local workforces.
⚫ A bipartisan Camp Caucus — and we're proud to share that since our meetings, Camp Caucuses have officially formed in BOTH the House and Senate. That's a big deal.
But the moment that mattered most? Lola in those rooms, reminding decision-makers why all of this matters.
Because camp isn't just camp.
It's confidence. It's friendships. It's healing. It's leadership.
It's a place where kids get to simply be kids. 🖤
The future of camp gets stronger when more voices are at the table — especially the ones that belong to the kids themselves.

We received a 2026 Forfeiture Fund grant from the Philadelphia District Attorney.
5 years. Hundreds of Philly kids are getting their chance at camp.
Thank you, DAO. From all of us. 💚
