When we started planning the first Proof Intensive, we realized we were going to have a “problem” to solve.

Twenty bakers from across the U.S. (and even Canada!) spent three days learning with us. To give everyone real hands-on experience, we had to make way more bread than we could ever sell.

So instead of asking, “What are we going to do with all this bread?” we asked, “Who could we bless with it?”

That question perfectly captured what the Intensive is really about.

Our goal has never been to open a Proof Bread in every city. It’s to help great bakers build great bakeries in their own communities, so more people have access to real bread.

While our students were learning, the bread they baked started feeding people.

Thanks to our friend Meg (an absolute hero), hundreds of fresh loaves were delivered to:

* Firefighters and emergency crews at the Fort Tuthill Incident Command Post.
* Tolani Lake Enterprises on the Navajo Nation, supporting Indigenous growers and food distribution.
* Hopi Tutskwa Permaculture Institute on the Hopi Reservation, teaching permaculture and regenerative agriculture.
* Market of Dreams in Flagstaff, a community space connecting people with healthy food and local opportunities.

The same bread that helped 20 bakers learn will now nourish people across Arizona. And those 20 bakers are heading home to strengthen their own communities.

That’s the ripple effect we hope to create.

Because when one baker gets stronger, an entire community gets stronger with them. ❤️
