HomeBase Facts: founded January 2009 (pre event Nov 2008) after humbly receiving verbal consent from phoenix poetry community, expected 50 and 150 showed, went from Johnny's Uptown (later changed to Doc's Place) to downtown Sheraton to the Wyndham, average 200+ every two weeks, saw need for neo-soul so brought out Bilal, Anthony David, Ife, and Julie Dexter, HomeBase Holidays average 500+, top number 650, seen as the epicenter for the mature urban crowd, several people fly in from all over the country to attend, website, Android app, compilation cd, radio ad, traveled to OKC, Chi, DC, etc, nationally recognized house band, raised thousands of $$$ for scholarships and non-profits, support small businesses through promoting and vending, #1 contributor to youth slam team's trip to Brave New Voices 3 years in a row and have given birth to poets, performers, and organizations. No fluff, just facts.
