The Tia Foundation

Some communities go months or years without medical care. In these cases, Tia sets up mobile clinics in plazas, churches, schools, or community health centers so residents can receive treatment close to home.

Our mobile clinics often include:
• Medical consultations with doctors, nurses, nutritionists, psychologists, and physical therapists
• Prescription and over-the-counter medications
• Prenatal and children’s vitamins
• Vaccinations and injections
• Laboratory testing
• Minor surgical procedures

But, lasting change requires local leadership. That's why we train Promotores, the community-selected health workers who keep villages healthy long after our team departs.

Promotores can reach 500 people and become trusted responders in emergencies and dependable educators for preventative care. They bridge the gap between the needs of the community and out-of-reach healthcare.

At the Tia Foundation, our work is rooted in partnership. Through training local Community Health Workers—Promotoras—we’re helping expand access to healthcare to communities across rural Mexico where it’s often out of reach.

Real impact doesn’t come from the outside. It comes from within communities.
