Happy New Year from SHADE Industries!

We'd like to start this year by sharing a project that meant a lot to us.

In the fall of 2019, we had our sixth opportunity to partner with the Make-A-Wish Foundation, this time on behalf of a 5-year old girl named Rylee. Rylee suffers from medical conditions that cause life-threatening seizures, and which have resulted in multiple hospital stays and surgeries. She is also unable to sweat, and is therefore very sensitive to the sun and heat in Arizona.

The Make-A-Wish Foundation assembled a team of multiple contractors (including SHADE Industries) to build a splash pad in Rylee's backyard. Along with gracious contributions from our vendors, we donated and installed four columns and a shade sail over the splash pad, which provides over 660 square feet of shade.

The completed splash pad and shade structure will allow Rylee to play outdoors while remaining protected from the sun. We hope our contribution encourages strengthening for her, and can't wait to hear more about her development!

It's always fun when we have the chance to work on a unique project! For this residence in Rio Verde, Arizona, we installed vertical shade panels on a barn that provide shade to the owner's horses. They sure seem to be enjoying the new addition!

We're thrilled for the release of the new DualShade 350 shade cloth from Gale Pacific! This fabric uses two different colors of yarn to create a textile that is one color when viewed from the front, and a different color on the reverse side. With such a cool new product to add to our repertoire, we can't wait to see what exciting design possibilities open up!
