Why Reline Instead of Dig and Replace?
CPM Pipelines recently completed the largest FFRP liner installation in North America. This project was unique because the 24-inch water line that was rehabbed was partially located under irrigation lines. One of the many cons to replacement would have required special permitting with the irrigation utility in order to excavate the existing pipeline. BulletLiner SystemTM to the rescue! CPM’s field technicians installed two, 75-foot sections of pipeline with BulletLiner SystemTM and hydraulicly pressed fittings on each end. The reinforced, fully seamless, flexible, woven Aramid fabric liner ran seamlessly through multiple 45º offsets to provide trenchless rehabilitation, and a 50-year service life duration to the existing pipeline at a fraction of the cost and time to replace.
BulletLiner SystemTM resists temperatures -40º F to 167º F, with H Series liner resisting temperatures up to 230º F. Trenchless pipeline rehabilitation creates less waste and eliminates disrupting the surrounding environment, providing an eco-friendly solution. The Acquarius has landed! CPM Pipelines is excited for the first inspection of its type in North America utilizing Acquaint’s Acquarius in-line smart pig tool based on ultrasonic testing technology. The inspection will assess the condition of a 20-inch raw water line, comprised of bar wrapped pipe, approximately 1-mile in length that supplies a water treatment plant located in Texas.
