🤔 Why would a Christian fast?

If everyone knows you're fasting... who's getting the attention?
Jesus wasn't against fasting.
He was against performing your faith.

Fasting isn't about proving you're spiritual.
It's about humbly bringing your sin, sorrow, and need before God.

Less "Look at me."
More "Lord, have mercy."

The Pharisees wanted applause.
Jesus wanted repentance.

If your spiritual habits earn attention from people but don't draw you closer to God... you're missing the point.

The reward of fasting isn't admiration.
It's the reminder that you are forgiven, loved, and never abandoned by God.

Stop performing. Start connecting. ✝️

The prison you refuse to unlock is the one you're living in. Jesus offers a better way... "Forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors."
