July 17th is national Glioblastoma Awareness Day. Today, we express reflection upon one of the most common and deadliest forms of primary brain tumors in adults and how it has affected our communities, loved ones, and neighbors. To show support, look for local fundraising events, spread the word online, or even donate.

Today we celebrate our wonderful Co-Founder Dr. Gregory Umphrey's birthday. Dr. Umphrey is a physical medicine & rehabilitation (PM&R) physician, specializing in interventional musculoskeletal ultrasound, and musculoskeletal and spine rehabilitation. As a Physiatrist, he believes in treating the whole person, not just the problem area, by providing non-surgical treatments to restore maximum function lost through injury, illness or disabling conditions. He also believes in inspiring and equipping future physicians to lead with excellence, compassion, and purpose.

We are grateful for Dr. Umphrey’s commitment to furthering ElevateMeD's goal of supporting the next generation of medical students. He continues to volunteer his time on our Board of Directors, Program and Scholarship Committees, serving as an mentor as needed, while continuously sharing new ideas to help grow our programmatic efforts.
