For many couples, deciding who to invite to their wedding can be one of the most stressful parts of planning.

Family expectations, friend groups, plus ones, budget limits, and obligations, it can quickly feel overwhelming. Most couples are simply trying to keep the peace and make everyone happy. But Scripture can invite us to think about the guest list in a completely different way.

Marriage is a covenant that reflects Christ and His Church. That means a wedding is never just a celebration; it is a declaration.

Your wedding day gathers witnesses: Some will walk alongside you and remind you of your vows when marriage feels hard. Others will hear the Gospel clearly through what your ceremony and celebration proclaim. That responsibility deserves far more intentional thought than most couples are encouraged to give it.

This post comes from the very first episode of our new premarital podcast season. This series is meant to do two things: prepare unmarried Christians to think biblically about marriage before engagement, and call married couples back to the foundations they may have drifted from over time.

Strong marriages rarely happen by accident. They are built on clarity, intentionality, and a shared understanding of what marriage is actually for.

If you are dating, engaged, or single, and hoping for marriage someday, or if you’re already married and wanting to recalibrate, this season is for you.
